Vendor FAQs

What kind of vendors do you accept at the market?
We ONLY accept local, homemade, & handmade vendors. This includes food vendors, crafts vendors, and all local small businesses. We DO NOT accept corporate companies, direct sales or MLM vendors but you can still participate by becoming a sponsor of the market. Click here to view our sponsorship info

Do you accept food trucks?
Yes we love having food trucks at our market!

Can I share a booth with another vendor or company?
No we do not allow vendors to share booths. Only 1 vendor/business/company per booth is allowed. This is a pretty standard rule that almost all farmers market have in place. 

If I sign up for the entire season, do I have to attend every single market day?
No - it is up to you how often you attend the market but you must be willing and able to communicate with the market manager on a weekly basis if you will be attending the market that week or not.

What do I do if I cannot make it to a market?
Vendors who cannot attend on any market day should notify the market manager (via weekly roll call form) at least 1 week in advance if possible. Absences without any kind of notice (no call, no show) will result in instant termination from the market. We understand that occasionally circumstances beyond your control will cause late arrival or for you not to make it to the market at all - Communication is key. 

Do I have to supply my own tables & canopies?
Yes all vendors are responsible for providing their own canopies, tables, table cloths, supplies, & etc for the market.

What if the weather is bad? 
We are open rain or shine. Your canopy will protect you from most of the rain & drizzle – though it's not required, you may find it helpful if you have a wall or two for your canopy on those days. 
In the case of severe weather (a severe storm during market hours, lighting, high winds, snow, ice, etc.) the market will be closed that day for safety and insurance reasons. Though it rarely happens, if the market decides to close, we will notify our vendors via text message least 3 hours before the market opens, if not sooner. We will also post this info on all social media accounts as well to let our customers know. We do not reschedule missed market days. 
We monitor the weather closely during market hours. If severe weather moves into our area while the market is already open - Our on-site manager for the day will also be around as quickly as possible to personally notify everyone. 

Is there a restroom for vendors?
Yes there is a restroom inside of the church for vendors to use.

Can I sell someone else's products/items?
We cannot guarantee approval of these items. We allow VERY little consignment exceptions at our market - typically only when the market committee believes the said product/item will benefit the market. Approval of these items are on a case by case basis. We ABSOLUTELY do NOT allow foods from produce auctions or the produce terminal. 

What if I want to bring a new item that's not listed on my application?
You will need to submit a written request (via vendor request form) to the market manager BEFORE bringing new products to the market.

What certifications or permits do I need to sell baked goods, sweets, homemade foods, & etc?
In order to sell these products in the state of Kentucky, a Home-Based Processor Certificate is REQUIRED. It costs $50 per year to register with the Kentucky Department of Public Health. More Info & Application Available Online or Call the Food Safety Branch @ 502.564.7181 - In some cases, you may need Home-Based Microprocessing Certificate or a Commercial License as Well. The Food Safety Branch can also assist with helping you obtain either!

I am a guest vendor and I cannot attend the date I booked; Can I swap the date for another?
Guest vendor dates CANNOT be rescheduled once selected. By signing up, you are committing to that date. The only exception will be if the market is forced to close due to the weather - in that case, your date will be rescheduled.  

Do guest vendors have to fill out the application again to sign up for more dates?
Yes you can add additional dates without filling out our application again fill out our Additional Guest Dates form.
